Lucy Bailey is a leading British Director, having worked across the board from Theatre and Opera to Music Theatre; having presented in a variety of venues including hit shows at Royal Exchange Manchester, West Yorkshire Playhouse Leeds, National Theatre, The Globe, ENO and London's West End (Baby Doll & The Postman Always Rings Twice).
Lucy is also co-founder of the gogmagogs, comprising seven young classically trained string musicians. Working with composers from diverse traditions, she explores music, movement and theatre, from the poetic to the absurd, to create an entirely new form.
Lucy's course took as its starting point the creation of non narrative and narrative driven performance, starting from scratch in the devising space. Lucy's experience with The Gogmagogs formed a springboard for exploring how you can create highly visual material, combining story telling with physical dynamism and visually intriguing imagery.
